The Catch-up

Hey friend!

As you know, I’ve been gone for several weeks trying to relax and recharge, and I know you guys are curious to know what I’ve been up to. So, I guess I’ll spill the beans.

Nothing. Absolutely nothing!

I’m playin’, y’all! I did do a bunch of things. However, I didn’t do as much as I would’ve liked. Let me go down the list real quick.

First off, I spent lots of time with family. I got to spend time with my grandma. We drank and cut up one weekend so much so that she basically passed out at the dining room table. I helped her pass out Halloween candy, and we ran out of candy. Then, she wanted me to go to the store and get more. I said no. Haha! Those greedy little boogers got enough! I had fun with her, though.

I also spent some time with one of my favorite uncles. He came to RVA for a visit. We had lots of catching up to do, and I’m happy to report that we are both well informed. 😊

On a sadder note, I think most of you know that I’m a caregiver; my mother became ill, and she spent quite a bit of time in the hospital. Thankfully, she’s not in the hospital anymore, which she’s extremely happy about, but she’s got a ways to go to get back to her normal self. So, please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. 🙏 It would mean the world to me and my family.

On a better note, I did get to eat lots of good food and drink until my heart was content. Of course, I went to my favorite place in the city, Tarrant’s Cafe, and had some pasta. Also, this was probably the last time I had any shrimp, which must change!

I did some much needed shopping and bought some new clothes, some things for the house, and some cute clothes for my mom. I even grabbed a few gifts for Christmas, which will be right around the corner. Uh!

I also took photos of random things around the city while I was out and about. Below are just a few. I didn’t want to post all of them because it’s a lot, but I also didn’t want to post of that crazy shit. You know how people are. They will draw or writing anything! It’s crazy.

Honestly, I’m not sure if I succeeded in resting and relaxing. I had quite a few familial situations to handle, and I continued to work my regular 9 to 5 job while I took a break from The Black Quirky Queer. Overall, I’m glad I took the break, but next time, I’m actually going to plan some fun activities and down time.

And…
