Hey friends!

First off, I just want to thank each and every one of you for sticking around and listening to what this sleepy, gay gal has to say or write about. Your support gives me life! It’s truly the fuel of champions.

Second, life is still kicking my ass. Hard! Work was fucking bonkers! My manager was running around like a chicken with its head cut off, driving everyone around her crazy. I thought I’d have to give her a piece of my mind once or twice. Thankfully, it didn’t come to that, and I’m so proud of myself because my Black ass will go off in a heartbeat. And even though things have quieted down at work, she’s still getting on my damn nerves, just not as much. Pray for me, y’all.

Family is doing much better. They aren’t driving me crazy. Everyone seems to be as healthy as they possibly can be. So, I’m grateful that this side of my life seems in order.

Third, as for this platform, The Black Quirky Queer, I’ve been doing my best to put out some kind of content. Ya girl’s been tired and falling asleep at the desk or on the recliner, but know that I am trying. The blog posts have been scheduled, so you’ll definitely get the regular biweekly posts. As you can tell, there was no podcast episode for the month of March largely due to the fact that the sound was so off, which is frustrating as hell. However, I’ve figured out how to combat this so I don’t run into anymore snags in the future … hopefully.

Also, if I can be so honest with you guys, I do not like the sound of my voice.

It makes it hard for me to listen to myself and edit. I just want to change every little thing I hear and make it sound better, but that wouldn’t be cool. It also takes away the raw, authentic part of my speech and message, so as I edit the April episode, my hopes are to let go and let shit happen. I don’t always need to take my laugh, stutters, or whatever imperfections may be in the audio because those are essentially me, and that’s the whole point of this. I want to show you guys who I am, what matters to me, and connect.

So, if I snort on the next episode, don’t worry! I meant to leave that in there. Just kidding. I’m definitely taking that out, but I will leave a laugh or two in there, though.

There’s so much that I want to do! I’m kind of looking forward to getting these ideas out of my head and onto paper then on the internet for you guys. Although, with that said, I am curious to know what you guys are looking forward to. If there’s something you want my opinion on or want covered in a blog post or episode, let me know. I’d love to know what you’re into or curious about.

Obviously, don’t ask me any crazy shit. I won’t respond to you. However, anything pertaining to the Black LGBTQ+ lifestyle is acceptable. If you’re a Black queer creator, business owner, or an icon (I wish), reach out! I’d love to chat with you and maybe feature you. Just reply to this email or reach out via the contact page. I’ll try my best to get back to you within 48 hours. If it takes longer, that means I’m busy or life has me in a chokehold.

Support The Black Quirky Queer

If you like what you see, want to support a creative Black queer woman, or want to help increase Black LGBTQ+ visibility, consider monetarily supporting the platform. It would help cover maintenance fees, give me the motivation to continue this passion project of mine, and probably make me cry—in a good way.

If you decide to support, you’ll get a lovely shoutout on the next episode and a big THANK YOU!

NOTE: The Black Quirky Queer is not a registered charity. Therefore, all contributions are non-tax-deductible. All contributions are non-refundable.

Again, thanks so much! I love you all, and until next time … peace, love, and happiness! ☮️🩷😄
